Is Far Cry 5 Split Screen On Local Co-Op?
Even though you can finish Far Cry 5 story mode on single offline player mode (and you should if you are thinking of using cheats), the developers didn’t see the need for an offline co-op. The only time you can take on the Hope County’s cultists with the help of a friend is if you are playing the online multiplayer.
This is a deviation from previous Far Cry titles that had a couch split screen multiplayer. However, it seems to be in line with what most game developers are doing – ditching local co-op in favor of online multiplayer. Other popular games without local split screen multiplayer include Forza Horizon 3 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
Does Far Cry 5 Have Split Screen? No. There is no split screen or local co-op.
Most people argue that this move lets the developer fit a better-looking game into a smaller package that can run on available hardware without tasking your rig or console with the responsibilities of running a game server.
While this might be true, another more reasonable thought could be the powers an online co-op gives the developer. They can keep on pushing new content or competitions that keep the game fresh forever. This is how Grand Theft Auto 5 has managed to remain relevant for so long.
