Fallout Shelter: How to heal Mr. Handy
Fallout Shelter is a simulation game in the Fallout Series. It was initially released for iOS and Android devices and later on Windows, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The game places you in charge of a state-of-the-art vault, charging you with building and managing the fallout shelter and its community.
Updates have since introduced new features to the game. One of the most notable is Mr. Handy, a diligent robotic butler and vault overseer. You can find Mr. Handy by:
- Getting him from legendary rarity card in lunchboxes,
- Purchasing hum in Mr. Handy boxes
- Find him in one of the starter packs
- Get him as a reward once you accomplish different objectives in the game
- Purchase him from the store. One Handy goes for $0.99 and a pack of 5 Mr. Handies for $3.99.

Mr. Handy is quite hardy and can be sent out into the wastelands to explore and gather caps. He can also be placed on a floor of the vault to collect resources and fight off the occasional adversary. However, Mr. Handy can only fight off so many deathclaws, mole-rats, and raiders before needing repair. Given that Mr. Handy will pursue an invader until he kills them, he will undoubtedly take damage so healing him becomes a necessity.
So how do you heal Mr. Handy in Fallout Shelter?
Unfortunately, you cannot. It is impossible to fix Mr. Handy’s partial damage, no matter how much damage he takes. There is no mechanic to repair Mr. Handy while he’s still alive and stimpaks don’t work on him either.
The only option remains to let Mr. Handy die. It then costs 2,000 caps to revive him, which can be a steep price depending on your situation. A popular workaround is to send whatever damaged Mr. Handy you have out to explore the wastelands and gather caps. This is because Mr. Handies cannot die in the wastelands and do not take damage while exploring. The added bonus is that Mr. Handy will probably collect caps you need towards repairing him when he finally dies.
